2017 has arrived and I'm excited to see what this year brings for all of us. I've seen lots of 'New Year, New You' and 'make your resolutions' posts but I am honestly not into all of that. I would much rather just be my usual, happy self and try out some new and exciting things along the way to see if it makes me even happier! So here I am sharing my clean eating afternoon tea, because you have to live!
I'm a big fan of drinking non-dairy milk as well as using it my recipes as you know, so was very happy to receive this beautiful afternoon tea basket from the guys at Rice Dream. Here is the best bit though - they want you to try it out for free this January because if you don't love it, they will give you your money back. Yes, I am serious! You can pick up a carton during your next shop in Tesco or Asda, and try something new this month without the worry of wasting your money if you are not keen.
I have loads of recipes you can use it in, here's one of my favourites....scones, clean eating scones made with wholemeal flour and spelt flour. With such beautiful teacups in my basket, I couldn't resist having my own mini afternoon tea. I love drinking Earl Grey so I brewed myself a cup, added the Rice Dream milk and raised my little finger as I sipped it (I might have imagined myself in Downton Abbey at that moment, hehe!).
The consistency of the milk is similar to skimmed, but it has a gentle sweetness to it that suited my cuppa perfectly. Of course, as soon as Sofia saw it, she wanted to be like mummy and try it on something too! The next day she asked for a bowl of peanut butter granola with Rice Dream milk and she loved it. If you want to know the recipe for this gorgeous granola please come to our very first clean eating seminar, which takes place on the 14th January here in Chelmsford. Get in touch if you want to come 🙂 Just drop me an email.
You know how much I like bargains so this is definitely one for you to try as if it's not for you, Rice Dream are happy to give you your money back. Talking about bargains, don't forget to give a go to my healthy bars, all you need is bananas, oats and raisins. Full recipe here.
I'd love to see your version of a Rice Dream afternoon tea so why not try it out, take a pic and hashtag it #dreamafternoontea and #hedihearts so we both see your lovely creations.
Much love,
Hedi
