Mason jars are probably the trendiest types of jars out there and I know that all of the food bloggers out there love to use them in their Instagram photos. There are so many ways how to use mason jars that it’s almost mandatory to get a few for your own home too. And I don’t mean just for cooking.
These are my favourite jars which you can get from Steamer UK. The brand is Aladdin and I love the bright lid colours and retro look. I have the following:
Aladdin Classic Salad Mason Jar Red 1L
My favourite, I use it all the time. I store my granola or quinoa and buckwheat crunch in it as it holds a full batch. The jar is made of BPA-free plastic and there’s no need to worry about it getting broken when the kids are around. It is durable, lightweight and perfect for salad fans as it has a removable dressing container to stop your salad getting a soggy bottom. (Or you could use it for peanut butter! Ha! You know me, I stick peanut butter anywhere at any time.) Perfect for you or the children when it comes to preparing a portable packed lunch, you can get your own salad jar here.
Aladdin Classic Mason Food Jar 0.6L
Another thing I love about these jars is that they are all leak-proof, dishwasher safe and BPA-Free. I love storing my dried fruit in it or it is also the perfect size for a serving of soup. You can get it here.
Aladdin Classic Mason Salad Jar Berry 0.35L
This one might look as if it’s made of glass, but it’s another of BPA-free plastic container. It is ideal for overnight oats or your homemade cereals to take your breakfast to work. Even soup would fit in nicely if you were eating it with a side salad, as it can be reheated in the microwave at work (without the lid). You can get your own overnight oats jar here.
Aladdin Classic Mason Food Jar Fern 0.47L
A good middle-sized jar which I love to use for a portable pasta and tomato sauce lunch. It’s easy to reheat in the microwave or if you use a creamy salad-type of dressing, you can eat it straight from the jar. You can get your own pasta jar here.
If you don’t use mason jars already, I bet you want to now! They come in so many different sizes so you will find them handy for so many different things.
I have searched the internet for you to find some delicious meals and ideas for how to use mason jars, but before we get to it here are also some really practical uses for mason jars:
You can store nearly any food you like and take it with you throughout the day. You can opt for various sizes, according to your needs and preferences.
If you want to forget about the old-fashioned lunchbox of salad, a big mason jar is a chic way to do so. It works like a charm for a bit of diversity.
Drinks, smoothies and juices
Serve up one of my homemade smoothies in a mason jar and your visitors will be too busy posting on Instagram to chat to you!.
Whether you like handmade products or you just want to add a bit of personality to your home or dinner party, mason jars are a great base to use.
Throwing a themed party can make a hole in your budget. But you can use mason jars for various purposes – drinking, decorations, and anything else you can think of.
Did you just get a lovely bouquet of flowers but you have no vase in the house? A big mason jar will fix the inconvenience so you can enjoy fresh flowers for a long period of time. It is best to go for glass jars for this as plastic ones can’t hold the weight of the bouquet.
People usually wrap gifts and place them in bags, which quickly turn into rubbish. Give your small gifts in mason jars so the birthday boy or girl can enjoy a practical packaging method too.
If you want to be unconventional use your painting tools on mason jars to create cool art pieces.
