Hello, hello. You know me I am always interested in having a healthier lifestyle and nutrition is extremely important so I pay lots of attention to it. However the main inconvenience when it comes to juices and juicing is the fact that I am very busy. Think full time job, commute to London 2 hours each way, family, blogging, facebooking. I think you get the picture. I always saw juicing as time-consuming that's why I have been skipping the daily juices pretty often. Still, about a month ago I got determined to drink more of them and just as I was getting my old juicer out I got approached by Sue from the gorgeous Thrive Magazine to test the Juico Uno Slow Juicer. I (almost) did 3 back flips and said yes please!!
Difference between slow juicing and normal juicing
The main difference between the slow juicer and the normal (high speed) juicer is in the speed of the motor. Slow juicing consists in crushing and cold pressing the food, while the normal one uses centrifugal force which doesn’t typically yield as much nutrition, because the pulp is usually very wet. Through slow juicing, the fruits and vegetables preserve more of their enzymes and nutrients, which are great because it means you have more vitamins and minerals. These are usually lost through the heat and friction used by normal juicers. Cold pressed juices don’t oxidize quickly and can last for up to 72 hours in the fridge. Juico is a very much slow juicer and of the best quality. You have to get used to having to chop your fruit and veg smaller and feed it slowly, but you get rewarded with the most delicious and nutritious juice you could possibly have.
This is great from a financial point of view too, as you take full advantage of the food you buy. It's such a waste to throw away perfectly good food, especially when you're on a pretty tight budget and you can't afford to splurge.
Design
I would describe it in three words: tall, dark and handsome (just like our ideal men ladies, isn’t it?) I love its brushed stainless steel design that looks sleek, stylish and high-end. Juno is slim and lightweight and won’t be such an eyesore in the kitchen. Juico Uno is compact and weighs less than I expected, so it's even easier to move it from one place to another. However, the best part about its design is that it is simple, straightforward and easy to put together.
Convenience
This slow juicer only has three components, which makes cleaning easier than ever. Cleaning my old juicer has always been so annoying for me. I don't have a dishwasher and I hate doing the dishes. Whenever I made a juicer, I had to spend lots of time into removing all the remaining bits and pieces properly. I know this sounds bad, but it probably was the main reason why I skipped drinking any juice most of the time.
Taking the Juico unit apart is a breeze with the three in one screw; I was so surprised to see that the cleaning process is so hassle-free. It really simplifies your work. We all know how food gets jammed into tiny parts of juicers and you have to scrub it away. Now it takes me less than a minute to rinse thoroughly those three elements. This is due to the fact that the juicer is made of high quality materials and there is very little pulp left behind compared to a normal juicer.
The price tag makes this a quality affordable juicer for those who can’t afford a higher priced option. Still, I am more interested in having an energy-efficient device that will help me save money on the long-term. My old 800 Watts juicer was a really bad alternative in terms of this. The 200 Watts Juico Uno is such a big improvement and despite the low consumption, this juicer does a brilliant job.
Juice
The juice has a fresh taste and is thicker; it hasn’t got that watery look. I got over 2 cups from 4 carrots, 1 apple and 2 pears, not bad in my juicing book! You can store it for up to 3 days, so get your bulking juicing on. It was a nice surprise to see the amount that Juico Uno can produce. It extracts a maximum amount of juice leaving dry pulp which I like to use in my smoothie the next day or use in some energy balls or pulp cookies.
Noise
The Juico Uno Slow Juicer has another particularity that I really like. It is much quieter than my old regular juicer. I am so thrilled about this, as a loud device is really troublesome especially if you have small kids or live in a small apartment. You can't just wake up everyone in the house if you want a juice early in the morning or in the middle of the night (yes I do that sometimes).
Bonus Benefit
A 10 year warranty on motor along with two years on parts comes with fast and responsive technical support. Anyway, I don't think I will encounter any technical issues with this juicer anytime soon. It seems like it is here to stay for a good while.
All in all, I am totally pleased with Juico Uno Slow Juicer. I like its features and it provides a great overall experience. It is ideal for first-time juicers who want to get into the world of juicing with this no-nonsense, sleek, efficient juicer and even for the experienced juicer. You really can’t go wrong with this purchase.
Much love,
Hedi
Disclaimer: I received Juico juicer for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for you my readers.

Brilliant juicer I owned this for 5 months but I recently purchased two Omega VERT VSJ843RS juicers for our cafe. Works brilliantly
