On Friday I had such a craving for nice chunky crunchy tasty greasy chips...yes, even me such a devoted clean eater craves "bad" food. Luckily I managed to hold myself back and instead quickly run to the shop, got a nice sweet potato and made myself these lovely, really delicious and satisfying clean sweet potato fries. Look at them, just look! Aren't they just amazing! You have to make them and let me know what you think, because I think they are out of this world!
Recipe
Ingredients:
1 medium size sweet potatoe
1-2 tablespoons coconut flour ( tapioca or arrowroot flour can be used as alternative but it is not as clean as coconut flour)
Coconut oil
Little bit of smoked paprika, or if you like a touch of curry, cumin or cayenne pepper
Salt and Pepper for seasoning
Process:
Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees. Peel the potatoes, cut in thin long batons and soak in water for 30 mins. Next lightly coat with coconut oil. Place coconut flour in a large bowl and toss the sweet potato batons in it. Shake off the excess coconut flour to avoid powdery spots and place onto baking try lined up with baking paper. Make sure they are not overlapping otherwise they won’t get crispy. Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, cinnamon or any other spices. Bake for 15 min and then turn over. Bake for another 15 min or until they look puffed up and crispy. Enjoy loads!!
