I have posted the above photo of my 2 yummy smoothies on my Facebook page the other day, and so many of you have requested recipe for the chocolate version, so here it is! Easy prep and loaded with nutrients you need at any time of the day.
Am sure this is no surprise(I'm a bit banana obsessed) but banana is one of the ingredients. Make sure it is a nice brown one with loads of speckles. Bananas are rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals. Their high starch content makes a good source of energy, so prefect either before or after your workout. Carob is caffeine free alternative to chocolate, which tastes very similar to cocoa powder. It is naturally sweet, contains less fat than cocoa powder, and is rich in iron, calcium and potassium. Let's get blending!
Recipe serves 1-2 people
Ingredients:
1 large ripe banana
½ cup unsweetened almond milk
1 teaspoon coconut oil (I used LucyBeeCoconut)
1 teaspoon carob powder or cocoa powder ( you can add more for richer flavour)
¼ cup white yogurt (I used Provamel soya, but full fat Greek yogurt will work nicely too)
1 teaspoon Coconom coconut sugar or any of your favourite sweetener (optional)
Handful of ice cubes
Method:
Put all of the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy loads and loads
Much love,
Hedi
