It’s no secret that I love creating recipes for family and friends, whether that be in real life, or sharing on the internet with the Heart’s tribe. But what I really love is the excitement and joy you get when you see that family or friend take a bite for the very first time and all your hard work was worth it.
That’s why I cook; that’s why I share my recipes with you. They’re simple, they're easy and they’re a great way to get that same reaction that fuels my day and makes everything I do worth it.
My recipes are created for you and most of the time, by you. They are the recipes you have asked for that your friends and family love and that you love to make together, just like when I make them with my family.
Food has this incredible power of bringing everyone together -- especially during the last year or so, when we have needed ways of staying connected more than ever.
Which is why I’m so excited to have partnered with the Family Cookbook Project. Not only am I able to create a cookbook that’s filled with all the recipes that my family loves, as my daughter is old enough to get a little more hands-on in the kitchen with me, but also to share them with family and friends worldwide. It’s like having our own little Hearts Supperclub.
The Family Cookbook Project is an incredibly easy to use platform that allows you to create a personalised cookbook with all of your favourite recipes, whether they are your own, been passed down through the generations or ones you have found or been sent on the internet.
In just a few simple steps you are able to copy and paste the recipe or even import from multiple websites and start crafting your very own printed cookbook.
You can have your own personal cookbook or you can upgrade your membership and have multiple people adding recipes to the same book. This is a great way for people to connect through food and to keep their beloved recipes going even though they may not be able to eat them together - they can at least cook them together.
So how does it work?
The process is super simple and everything is customisable to your own preference so you can tailor it to your own specific needs. You can design your own front cover, create your own subcategories and even include notes and labels under who is contributing the recipe or what type of recipe it is for easy searchability.
There’s a super handy video that talks you through each step as well as step-by-step instructions, but my best advice is to just get stuck in and play around with it. It all comes together really easy and is an incredible way to collect, store and look back on all your wonderful recipes and the memories that each one has in a beautifully crafted printed cookbook t. That you can proudly display on your kitchen shelves.
Once you have input all your recipes (which is limitless) you can start to craft which recipes, and which order you would like them to appear. I love this option because it means you can keep coming back and adding new recipes to your database, which sits on the Family Cookbook Projects platform and then craft new printed recipe books based on the season or the occasion. All you have to do is click, add and go and within a few days you will have a brand new cookbook on your doorstep ready to be cooked from!
How can I access it?
The recipe books are automatically crafted and you’re able to download them as a PDF to use on your computer, use their app to grab the ingredients while you are out shopping and more importantly available to purchase a hard copy (for a small fee) which is the perfect gift for any Family or foodie or foodie family. The multi-platform usability is great for audiences of all ages who all have different ways of accessing and creating recipes and cooking them.
Everything you do on their platform is customisable from uploading your own front cover, changing the style and font and layout. It's a great activity to sit and do with your family as you pick and choose your favourite recipes and see them come to life, and the printed recipe book is a great keepsake as you all cook from your own chosen recipes for years to come - which makes meal times a blast.
Now if only we could find a company as good as this to do the washing up!
