There are hundreds of brownie recipes that are healthy, tasty, gluten/dairy free and all that jazz, but then there is my healthy chocolate glazed brownie recipe developed by me – a little goes a long way!
This is my favourite treat. If you’re a dark chocolate lover like me, this decadent brownie is perfect for times when you want an indulgent dessert. Whenever I can, I use loads of hazelnuts as they make it rich and indulgent. Combine them with the energy-boosting raw cacao powder and it will keep you coming back for more after just one bite! But remember, everything should be eaten in moderation so if you think you will get tempted to eat the lot in one sitting, freeze these and take one out when the sweet cravings come to you. In my opinion, healthy living should be something you enjoy, not something that’s stressful or confusing. Having said that, exercising a sensible approach to meal portions is important to help you stay healthy and in the best shape possible. Now back to this gorgeous healthy chocolate glazed brownie recipe which is made only with 5 ingredients. Every ingredient is a simple, ordinary ingredient that you probably already have in your cupboard. I like to mix and match this recipe depending on what I’m in the mood for and what ingredients I have on hand. I might use coconut oil, raw cacao and date nectar one night, or cocoa powder and maple syrup another. All variations are delicious! For toppings, I use crushed nuts and freeze-dried strawberries to add a pop of colour. Call me crazy, but I actually prefer the mortar and pestle to using a blender or food processor even if it takes an extra couple of minutes. There’s just something I find really enjoyable and satisfying about using an old-fashioned method!
