THE BEST VEGAN APPLE GALETTE RECIPE

This rustic, sweet & savoury vegan apple galette is just the comfort food you need for these cooler autumn days.

It tastes amazing on its own, with a warm cup of tea, or served with your favourite vegan ice cream as a hearty dessert.

VEGAN GALETTE CRUST – Spelt flour – Solid coconut butter (you can use coconut oil too) – Cinnamon – Chia egg (1 tbsp chia seeds + 3 tablespoons water) – Pinch of nutmeg

INGREDIENTS

Ingredients: APPLE FILLING – Apples, peeled and sliced – Date syrup (maple syrup works too) – Cinnamon – Nutmeg – Pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Make your chia egg by mixing the chia seeds with water and letting it sit for 5-10 minutes. 2. Combine the spelt flour with cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a bowl.

3. Add in the chia egg. 4. Slowly add the ice-cold water until the dough holds nicely together.

5. To make the filling, mix date syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg and a pinch of salt in a bowl. 6. Take the dough out and roll it into a rough circle shape on a floured surface. Transfer to your prepared baking tray.

NOTES... You can use any fruit you like in this recipe.
