Recipe
Homemade almond milk
Almond milk is my main and also favourite ingredient for all my smoothies and shakes, but also in baking and cooking.
Ingredients
- 1 cup almonds (the better the quality, the better the milk)
- 3 cups of water (you could use 2 cups if you want super creamy milk)
Instructions
- Place the almonds in a bowl and cover with water.
- Leave them overnight or for a minimum 8 hours. If you want to speed up the process you can soak the almonds in boiled water for around 2 hours.
- Once soaked, drain them and rinse thoroughly in fresh water.
- Place them in the bowl and add 3 cups of fresh, preferably filtered water.
- Switch on the juicer and start slowly pouring a ladle of almonds with water into the juicer.
- Make sure you have your pitchers placed under the pulp and milk outlets to catch the extracted pulp and milk. Continue the ladling until there are no almonds or water left.
- Pour the milk into a jar and...voila your homemade almond milk is ready.
