Now for these absolutely delicious, yummy and protein packed frozen yogurt slices. This recipe is inspired by the lovely Fussy Eater blog, but I've changed a few things, such as adding almonds and my usual pea protein. Honestly I am not keen on the taste, but it is so good for me that I still force myself to eat it, or like in this case, hide it in a nice treat. The pea protein flavour is not overpowering, so you won't even notice it. You can use any protein.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup of your favourite white yogurt (I've used Provamel Free from sugar)
1 tablespoon of maple syrup or any other sweetener (I've used the one from Crazy Jack)
½ scoop of your protein powder (I used pea protein from Pulsin)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
handful of crushed almonds
2 handfuls of freeze dried strawberries, raspberries and blueberries (you can use fresh or frozen too)
handful of dark choco chips
handful of desiccated coconut
Method:
Mix the yogurt, protein powder, rice syrup, vanilla extract and crushed almonds together. Line a small freezer safe dish with aluminium foil and pour the mixture in. Top with strawberries, dark choco chips and the desiccated coconut. Freeze for 3 hours or until the mixture is solid. Remove from the freezer and let sit for 5 minutes. Cut into slices and enjoy! Store in the freezer for about one month.
Much love,
Hedi
