Of course the best option is make the pitta bread from scratch using my clean pitta recipe, but remember this recipe is about not having much time , but still trying to eat as clean as possible. If you have spotted better and more “clean” pittas, please comment below or email me, I am always on the lookout for the cleanest shop bought products.

Quick and healthy pizza
Looking for a midweek easy dinner option? Then you must try this quick healthy pizza recipe which takes less than 15 minutes yet still healthy.
Ingredients
- 2 Sainsburys wholemeal pitta breads
- For the tomato sauce:
- 1 medium ripe tomato
- 1 handful of sun-dried tomatoes
- 1 clove of garlic
- A few basil leaves
- Toppings;
- Whatever your heart desires, so spinach, olives, mushrooms, sweetcorn or your favourite cheese such as feta, mozzarella, halloumi
Instructions
- Turn your grill on and toast the pitta bread for a couple of minutes, set aside.
- Place all the ingredients for the tomato sauce in your food processor or blender and blend away until a smooth consistency. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of water.
- Spread the tomato sauce on the toasted pitta bread and top up with your toppings.
- Pop under the grill again until the cheese is melted and the edges of the pitta bread are brown (keep and eye on the bread as it does get burned quickly, so keep the grill temperature lower)
There you are, this tasty, quick healthy pizza will be on your dinner table in a mere 15 minutes!

What about sieved Tomatoes? Are they not clean or can I use them too?

I make pitta pizzas on a regular basis love them!! So quick and easy, we love them with sweet potato fries (whisk an egg white until just frothy the season with anything you like I use cayenne pepper, paprika, salt and pepper, coat the fries and then Cook in the oven in coconut oil mmmmm) Sainsburys near me do another variety of pittas with only 4 ingredients making them clean.

Thanks so much Carrie, will check it out next time I am in Sainsbury's Hedi xxx
