I can’t imagine my life without ice cream. I bet you too my lovely clean eaters, so today I am sharing a simple clean eating ice cream recipe.
It is so simple that I am almost ashamed to call it a recipe. If you have been reading my blog or following me on Facebook you will know that bananas are my favourite fruit and that I love using them in my clean eating recipes. Today is no different…banana is the main ingredient and the star of this dish. Make sure you use a nice spotty one, the more spots the sweeter and creamier the ice cream will be. All you have to do is to slice the banana into small chunks, freeze for a minimum of 6 hours, it’s best overnight, then pop it in a blender, add a splash of your favourite milk and blend , blend , blend.
You could even skip the milk, but I like using it because it helps with blending and gives the ice cream a bit more creamier taste. Provamel’s organic unsweetened drink is my favourite to use because it contains only almonds, a pinch of sea salt and water. It has a lovely nutty flavour and froths up beautifully when I make a cup of hot chocolate in the evening. If you have a nut allergy try oat or rice milk, both work very well.

This recipe is extremely customizable! Today I created 3 different flavours for you… raspberry, blueberry and green Matcha Tea flavour. Oh man, the possibilities are endless, just go and experiment and let me know what you can come up with. I think peanut butter flavour would be amazing too or with raw cacao creating a chocolate flavour. I have to stop this because I am literally salivating. The beauty of this simple clean eating ice cream is that there is absolutely no added sugar, dairy, eggs, gluten or wheat. Just simple ingredients as given to us by mother nature.

How simple and gorgeous is that? And you don’t need any expensive ice make either. Your kids will love it too! Sofia’s favourite flavour is with fresh strawberries. Once blended I add a few extra fresh strawberries, a few cocoa nibs and she scoffs it down within minutes. You could also add a small espresso instead of milk to make it coffee ice cream… the options are honestly endless.. here is a video of the recipe...
