    This healthy chocolate oat bread is easy enough for any new bread baker to make and there are 8 ingredients all of which I am sure you have on hand. And I even manage to sneak in some veggies 🙂 Best of all, this chocolate oat bread recipe uses ZERO yeast and NO bread machine!Healthy chocolate oat bread made in blender

    It's a one-bowl/blender wonder (my favourite kind of recipe) and taste even better after couple of days. Store your chocolate oat bread, covered to maintain moisture, for up to 3 – 4 days on the counter or it lasts forever when wrapped up in the freezer.

    This bread doesn’t need anything fancy, it speaks for itself, but to make it even more chocolatey I added dark chocolate chips, but you don't have to. If chocolate flavour doesn't tickle your fancy, I have simple oat bread recipe here.

    Couple of things before we get to bake: Don’t over mix, over mixing the ingredients will cause the gluten proteins to create an elastic batter and the bread will not rise well. If you want to make it oil-free oat bread use applesauce instead of coconut oil.

    How to make healthy chocolate oat bread

    This healthy chocolate oat bread recipe needs only a few basic ingredients to create the best chocolate oat bread ever! It's gluten-free, dairy-free & vegan

    Healthy Chocolate Oat Bread Recipe

    Prep Time: 10 minutes
    Cook Time: 50 minutes
    Total Time: 1 hour

    Ingredients

    • 2 heaped cups oats
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1 medium courgette, grated
    • 2 flax eggs (2 tbsp.ground flaxseed mixed with 6 tbsp of water, let sit for 10 minutes)
    • ⅓ cup date nectar (or any other sweetener such as maple or rice syrup)
    • 2 tbsp coconut oil
    • ⅓ cocoa or cacao powder
    • Pinch of salt
    • Optional:
    • 80g chocolate chips (vegan or dark chips)

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees and line your bread tin with baking paper
    2. Pop the oats into a blender and whiz them up until flour like consistency
    3. Next add in the baking powder and blend
    4. Now add the rest of the ingredients and mix it all together
    5. Don't overmix it, otherwise it won't rise up
    6. Pour the mix into the lined tin and even out the top.
    7. Pop int oven and bake for 50 minutes
    8. Let cool down completely before cutting
