One of my favourite quick and easy recipes that you can whip up for breakfast, lunch, snack time, or even dessert is this lush Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie. It’s simple to make, ready to go in about 5 minutes, and is packed with good stuff.

When it comes to quick, easy, fresh and healthy recipes, let’s be honest — it’s hard to beat a green smoothie. However; this smoothie is very close to be smoothie perfection especially when peanut butter and bananas are involved.
Perfect for breakfast, mid-morning snack, or even dessert, if you love smoothies you're sure to love this delicious smoothie. My Sofia would have this smoothie any time, any day...she truly takes after her mother.
Ingredients
The ingredients are quite simple. I went with:
- Milk- Your choice, you can use my Homemade Oat Milk or unsweetened almond milk.
- Frozen Bananas - You have to peel them, slice them, and then freeze them. The riper the bananas, the sweeter the smoothie.
- Plain White Yoghurt - For extra protein and to make it even more creamy. I used Soya Greek Yoghurt, but you can use any yoghurt you like
- Peanut Butter - Only the best here please, so check the labels for added ingredients. Nothing but nuts only!
- Vanilla extract - To make it even more delicious
- Spices - To marry all the flavours up I added ground cinnamon and a pinch of salt
- Maple Syrup - Sweetener is optional and can be any sweetener of your choice. I just love maple syrup 🙂
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to the jug/beaker and using the hand held blender with the multi purpose attachment blend for 30-60 seconds until smooth.
- If the smoothie is too thick, add an extra ¼ cup of almond milk to thin it out.
- Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more maple syrup if needed
- Serve immediately, sprinkled with optional toppings if desired.
Great ingredients, great flavour, great smoothie. I think you’re going to love it!
Variations
Any kind of peanut butter will do! And a lot of it! No, seriously I love any peanut butter as long there is nothing else added other than nuts. So no added sugar or no added oil.
Both smooth and crunchy version work well.
Whether you're new to the smoothie trend or just looking to add more delicious smoothies to your diet, this smoothie recipe is sure to put a smile on everyone's face. And you really can't argue with that.
