About This Healthy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
If you like peanut butter and chocolate, you're going to love this recipe. I make these at least once a month. These homemade peanut butter cups are so much better than the shop-bought versions. You use a good quality peanut butter, cocoa, coconut oil and to sweeten them up a good measure of maple syrup. Now compare this with the original version.
Ingredients for Healthy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Here is your shopping list for these amazing peanut butter cups. You will need the following:
- Peanut Butter – Make sure nothing is added. You only want peanuts and that's it. Runny peanut butter is the best.
- Coconut Oil– Same as above, 100% coconut oil with nothing else. You will need it for both the chocolate and peanut butter layers.
- Maple Syrup – Maple syrup is my all time favourite sweetener, but feel free to use any other sweetener of your choice.
- Cocoa Powder/ Cacao – Cacao is stronger that cocoa so use a bit less. If using cocoa powder make sure it is unsweetened.
- Salt – Salt is a must, it brings out all the flavours.
Tips for Making this Recipe
- Not a fan of peanut butter? Use almond, hazelnut or cashew nut butter
- Allergic to nuts? Try tahini
- No maple syrup? Date syrup, agave or any other sweetener works well too
- Store this peanut butter cups in the freezer for up to a month

How many does this recipe make?
Hedi Hearts
That depends on the size of your muffin cases. If you have the small ones you should get 10 out of it. Hedi xx

Can I use a different oil to coconut oil? I've tried it in your clean flapjacks but I don't like it 🙁

Hello,
Great recipe, thank you! Just a quick question - the notes say that salt is a must, but it's not mentioned in the recipe! At what point do you add it? Himalayan salt, I guess?
Thanks and keep up the great work!
